Schedule

HATS is organized to have equal involvement between the teacher and parent in the education of each child. Students attend the Academy on three days per week while the other two days are at home under the supervision and teaching of mom, but with all the lesson planning and scheduling done by HATS.

Elementary:

The school day is organized from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Most students will have minimal “at home” work on those days with lower grades being assigned daily 10-15 minute reading assignments. You can expect to spend three to five hours on Thursday and Friday with your child doing his or her daily lessons, depending upon age/grade and willingness to work.

Middle School:

The school day is organized from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Most students will have homework on those days, depending upon level of engagement and time management in class. You can expect to spend five to six hours on Thursday and Friday with your pre-teen doing his or her lessons, depending upon willingness to work.

School Year:

The school year is 32 weeks, starting last week of August and ending the first week of May with a week off for Thanksgiving, three weeks at Christmas, and another week in March for Spring Break. No Monday holidays are taken with the exception of Labor Day.
